Introduction

•To serve and facilitate the work of its INGO members in order to address efficiently and effectively humanitarian issues identified by the INGO community with a view to linking relief and development.
To support CCO members in making the best use of opportunities for influencing policy and practice through developing common positioning on key humanitarian and transition issues.
To support the work of the Secretariat through providing administrative and logistical support to the CCO representative, liaising with existing members of the CCO’s Plenary Assembly and supporting them in communicating with the CCO’s Steering Committee and reaching out to additional potential members and the national media


Fonctions

• Manages own workload without close supervision and works independently on making decisions and problem solving on routine issues/problems.
• Provides creative/innovative solutions to routine problems/tasks and projects.
• Forward planning and management of small projects or elements of large projects.
• Providing advice on appropriate communications skills across the organisation.
• Representing CCO with other INGO actors and may need to deal with influential senior external contacts or supporters
• Impact of this role is significant within the departments and may have wider, organizational impact
of meeting materials, take, edit and disseminate minutes)
• Follow-up on the implementation of the decisions.
• Handle correspondence, phone and other communications
• Process the CCO’s expenses
• Write and edit reports to members
• Compile data and information for report to donors
• Translate some materials from English into French and occasionally Creole

Communications & Event
• Develop and implement the CCO internal and external communication strategy (with supervision of the CCO Rep)
• Develop CCO communication and promotion resources and material such as brochure, publication, notes and report on CCO activities
• Ensure quality and coherence of CCO’s communications
• Liaise with the national media for the publication of the communication and visibility works (websites or newsletters) upon agreement with manager
Organize, plan and coordinate CCO’s events (logistic, script/ talking points, budgeting, suppliers)
Public relations and outreach
• Initiate, develop, and maintain relations with senior staff from INGOs operating in Haiti, members and non members
• Develop and conduct outreach activities (individual meetings, social events, promotion/communication tools, etc.) to support the involvement of additional INGOs to the Plenary Assembly
• Promote the active participation of members in the CCO activities (panel, meetings, workshops, working groups, etc.)
• Continuously update and expand database of Plenary Assembly contacts
Liaise with external stakeholders, including medias and other platforms (CLIO), with a view to increase awareness and understanding of CCOPolicy analysis & Advocacy
• Compile information and data for advocacy purposes
• Develop and/or support realisation of position paper
• Write and edit talking points ahead of key meetings
• Encourage members to speak on messages
• Support in identifying influencing opportunity
• Support CCO’s networking activities


Qualifications Requises

• Excellent written and oral communication skills including drafting skills.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Networking skills
• Attention to detail.
• Keeps up to date with internal or external activities which may influence role.
• Willing and able to adapt priorities in order to respond to changing demands.
• Anticipates outcomes of activities and uses initiative to keep these activities on course.
• Works autonomously and on own initiative.
• Computer literate: highly proficient in the use of word processing software (MS Word), presentation software (MS PowerPoint), spreadsheet software (MS Excel), email software and knowledge management systems.
• Languages: Fluency in English and French is essential. Creole an asset.
