The Security Advisor will work 88 hours a month, equivalent to 11 days/month (divided according to an agreed matrix between the four organizations). Additional time may be requested by one or more member organization of the ACT alliance, and this will be subject to individual, ad hoc agreements, based on the same daily fee.
The following is the scope of work for the Security Advisor:
1) Objectives of the position:
The Security Advisor is the responsible of providing security guidance and support to the 4 organizations (Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), Finn Church Aid (FCA), Lutheran World Federation (LWF), and Christian Aid)
2) Hierarchy:
For all practical purposes, including contract management and overall line of communication, the Security Advisor is under the direct responsibility of the Christian Aid Country Manager. However, for all assignments agreed individually with one of the four agencies, the Security Advisor receives instructions and reports directly to the individual Country Representative. A monthly review of performance based on input from all Country representatives will take place

3) Responsibilities:
- Assist with communications control
- Collect and disseminate security related information: security sitreps will be submitted once a month. Develop and maintain contacts with local authorities, local stakeholders, etc * Will be assisting in the response to security incidents; * Advise on the security operations and provide trainings; Provide security briefings 2*/week for new-comers * Attend briefings; * Implement security & risk assessments, prepare briefing materials. Liaise and participate in Joint Haiti Security Forum (under establishment) and IOS.
- Liaise and provide support to the Security Focal Points in the four organizations.
Qualifications Requises
4) Experience and Qualities:
- A background in humanitarian security-related professions is preferred; .
- Previous experience in NGOs is preferred;
- Excellent writing and speaking skills in French, English and Kreyol . Good standard of knowledge of communications and IT systems;
- Experience in daily use of computer and related software;
- Speaking Spanish is an asset;
- High self-control capacity, rigor; Resourceful; flexible. Ability to work independently and take initiative;
- Reactivity and adaptation to a complex environment;
- Diplomat; No cowboy;

5) Terms & Conditions:
The Security Advisor is responsible for providing his/her own computer, vehicle/transport or other supplies which he/she considers necessary to deliver the agreed results. However, subject to individual agreement and availability of space, the Security Advisor may spend part of his working time in the joint CA/FCA/NCA office or the LWF office as well when deemed purposeful for the execution of his/her tasks.
Under this agreement, Christian Aid owns the copyright of the Work you will produce for Christian Aid and you assign to Christian Aid all your intellectual, moral and artistic Rights to this Work universally and in perpetuity.
Payment may be withheld if individual assignments within the duration of this contract are not delivered by the deadline specified.
Fee: Christian Aid will pay a professional daily fee negotiable depending of qualification and competence upon receipt of a signed invoice that states the services provided along with respective dates of delivery.
