The project ToTAL "Tout Timoun Ap Li," Technical Assistance to the” Ministère de l’Education Nationale et de la Formation Professionnelle (MENFP)” is an initiative funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) , Implemented by RTI International, in the form of applied research for the development of reading skills of Haitian students. Within the framework of its activities, the project wants to receive applications for an Education Assistant
Fonctions
Monitoring and supervision of the work of coaches, and coach supervisors in USAID development corridors (Saint Marc, Nord/Nord’est, Port-au-Prince).
Assist in development of reading education materials for students, teachers and coaches
Review data and reports being produced around coaching and community mobilization activities, and contribute to the use of data and communications to improve the reading program.
Participation in planning and execution of training of trainers and teachers.
Elaborate weekly and monthly reports for activities, and ensure the follow-up of the project
Ensure, with the collaboration of the FM and the technical staff, the management of the budget allocated for the technical activities in the area of intervention.
Ensure compliance with the office and USAID procedures in managing the funds
Be prepared to assist in a variety of activities to assure the quality of implementation of the reading program
Qualifications Requises
Degree in education (ENI or similar) and 3 years teaching primary education, or 5 or more years teaching primary education.
Experience in supervision of adults
Knowledge of how to work successfully with adult learners
Excellent reading and writing skills in Creole and French. Knowledge of basic English preferred.
Experience in managing budget and narrative reporting.
Competency in word processing (Word and Excell in particular)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead technical activities.
Must be willing to travel up to 40% of the time.
Conditions particulières
The following are a plus; 1) Experience or background in reading education, 2) Experience in production of written materials for education (for students, teachers or communities).
