Introduction
International Non-Profit Organization is looking for potential candidates for the position of Behavior Change Communications Specialist for a proposed USAID-funded project to reduce the prevalence of underweight among children under five (5) years of age over the next three years in target regions. The program also seeks to reduce the prevalence of anemia of women over the next three years.
Fonctions
The Behavior Change Communication (BCC) Specialist will work with program staff and partners to develop strategies to ensure that health promotion and behavior change messages, with an emphasis on improving nutrition activities for children under five and reducing instances of anemia in lactating and pregnant women, consistent with the health needs of the targeted population in order to promote improved nutrition and related health behaviors within the community. The Specialist will help to forge strong partnerships with local community programs, and local government initiatives that foster the practice of positive behavior among individuals and communities by improving their knowledge, attitudes, skills, and norms about key practices that promote improved nutrition strategies, use of appropriate crops/tools, and improved behavior related to nutrition.
Specific Responsibilities include:
• Developing a comprehensive BCC work plan working with the program implementation team;
• Collaborating with stakeholders to coordinate the development of BCC strategies
• Contribute to the identification and scaling‐up of best practices in behavior change interventions;
• Participate in the documentation and dissemination of project activities;
• Raise awareness of malnutrition prevention measures at national, local, and community levels, based on program objectives and results;
• Support BCC efforts related to appropriate care‐seeking and treatment.

Qualifications Requises
• Master’s degree in communications or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience and training.
• Experience in maternal, newborn, and child health programs is highly desirable.
• Experience in USAID‐funded health and nutrition projects is highly desirable. Demonstrated understanding of the factors that affect the behavior and practices of both stakeholders and beneficiaries |of nutrition interventions.
• Understanding of the Haitian political and social context essential;
• Proven track record in designing and implementing innovative, results‐oriented behavior change programs in the social sector.
• Familiarity with principles and approaches in community mobilization.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, interpersonal and communications skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic communication principles and practices.
• Relevant geographic experience essential.
• Fluency in Creole, French and English essential.
