IntroductionFonctions
Lead the successful representation and development, funding and implementation of TechnoServe programs in the LAC Region and contribute fully as a member of the TechnoServe Senior Management Team.
IV. Position Roles and Responsibilities:
Conceive, evolve and communicate a regional strategy, building upon the foundation of TechnoServe’s history and current programming in the region and elsewhere and taking full account of current opportunities and challenges to operations;
Design and lead an effective regional fundraising strategy, including the cultivation of partnerships with donors in country, in the region and internationally;
Ensure continued excellence and expansion of corporate partnerships with multinational and regional companies and with relevant NGO, government and other stakeholders;
Recruit, inspire and provide effective performance management for a team of skilled professionals to run country and regional programs, undertake successful fundraising and represent TechnoServe effectively with all audiences;
Identify, staff and support shared services for the division, including program management and technical functions where necessary, such as monitoring and evaluation, agriculture and agribusiness, enterprise development and others;
Provide technical and thought leadership and mentoring in TechnoServe’s areas of work for the LAC team in their representational, fundraising and project implementation and for others in the sector through high profile participation and advocacy in applicable fora;
Oversee the effective design and implementation of projects in the region in-line with client and participant needs and ensure that realistic project targets are set and progress against project metrics is tracked systematically and with fidelity to TechnoServe and donor requirements;
Identify, reward and replicate excellent project performance and intervene where necessary to address poor project progress;
Set and meet or exceed aggressive corporate targets each year for the countries and the region as a whole;
Coordination of exchange with other TechnoServe divisions and programs outside TechnoServe to foster continuous improvement of our operations, increased innovation and contribute to evolution in the sector;
Communicate effectively and coordinate activities as needed in-line with corporate requirements, including annual planning and budgeting, corporate project measurement, funding pipeline monitoring, Program Status Reporting and other priorities as required;
Support the effective coordination by the team with the service functions in Headquarters, including Finance, Accounting and Audit, New Business Development and Fundraising, Human Resources and the COO;
Participate as a full member of the Corporate Senior Management Team (SMT), attending quarterly meetings of the SMT, and preparing regional reports to the Board;
Oversee the effective management of regional budgets and the prudent use of the resources entrusted to TechnoServe.
Qualifications Requises
MBA or graduate degree in a related international field
10 plus years of progressive leadership experience with at least three years operating in the LAC region. The ideal candidate will have a mix of business experience from fields such as management consulting, agribusiness, finance or entrepreneurship with substantial exposure to the development sector, especially work with foundations, USAID, IADB and other major funders. Those with a deeper experience in the development sector may also be considered if they have a strong history of corporate partnership development, strategy development and management and strong knowledge of the culture and operation of the private sector;
Successful experience in inspiring and managing large teams of diverse professionals across multiple countries;
Full fluency in oral and written Spanish and English; an indigene of the region or with demonstrated deep knowledge of the culture; additional fluency in Portuguese and French also preferred.
Willingness to be accountable for results and demonstrated strategy, leadership and management capacity, ability to communicate effectively with a team and with external stakeholders;
Excellent writing and oral presentation skills;
Ability to travel up to 40% of time.
