AECOM is a global provider of professional technical and management support services to a broad range of markets, including transportation, facilities, environmental, energy, health, water and government.
AECOM was awarded the Haiti Health Infrastructure Program (HHIP) by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Under the contract, AECOM will provide planning, design and construction management services to the upgrading of selected medical facilities in support of strengthening the infrastructure and capacity of the Haitian Ministry of Health.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The HHIP staff translator will provide overall programmatic support by providing translation services in both written and oral situations. The HHIP staff translator will translate large technical documents from English to French and French to English. Additionally, the HHIP staff translator should be able to provide live support in multi-lingual meetings that include Creole, French, and English. The HHIP staff translator may be requested to tutor HHIP staff in English and French as well.
Responsibilities
1. Translate large project documents from English to French and French to English

2. Provide in-meeting project support when more than one language is being used

3. Liaise between project staff and outside personnel to clarify when language barriers occur

4. Contribute to increasing the capacity of project personnel through language lessons when possible, both in English and in French

5. Other program support and coordination as requested

• Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent relevant experience

• 2+ years experience in functional capacity as a translator

• Must be fluent in English, French, and Creole

• Flexibility, excellent inter-personal skills, ability to work in deadline-driven environment

• Knowledge and understanding of technical engineering vocabulary a plus
