The Communication Associate of the Project ensures high visibility of the SDSH Project, of the SDSH Project Partners, especially the MSPP, health NGOs and the private sector, using a broad-based communications strategy to promote and contribute to achieving project results and objectives.
The Communication Associate will work closely and coordinate all communications activities with the international communications advisor, the COP, the DCOP, and all the technical team leaders. He/she will be in charge of refining and implementing the Communications Plan, with support from the international communications advisor. He/she will also be responsible for ensuring that the SDSH Project complies and adheres to USAID Branding & Marking Rules and Regulations.
The Communications Associate will be integral to SDSH end-of-project communications activities and, pending award, launch and implementation of communications activities for a subsequent project. Together, with an international communications advisor, he/she will be responsible for setting the overall communications strategy of the project, defining the communication results to be achieved and implementing communication activities to reach those targets.
Fonctions
1/ Day-to-day Implementation
• Is the person in charge of all communications deliverables;
• Coordinates all communications activities with other project team leaders;
• Prepares and coordinates all communications activities with project partners;
• Is the person in charge of implementing the project communications strategy and preparing/updating the communications work plan;
• With international communication advisor, provides Strategic Leadership to project in terms of communications;
• Prepares and coordinates closely all communications activities with MSPP, NGOs and Private Sector Partners;
• With international communication advisor, provides Technical Assistance to MSPP, NGOs, Private Sector Partners in area of communications, as needed.
2/ Technical Assistance in Area of Communications to MSPP:
• With international communications advisor, provides high-level TA to MSPP for Ministry’s own Strategic Communications Plan;
• Assists the MSPP in all its Public Education and Advocacy Campaigns, as needed;
• Ensures High Quality and High Visibility of MSPP Communications Activities related to Project Technical Areas of Work.
3/ Coordination of All Communications Activities with USAID:
• Respond to USAID communications/PR requests in a timely fashion with high-quality deliverables (via Chief of Party);
• Ensures Compliance with USAID Branding & Marking per Contract Requirements;
• Ensures High Visibility of SDSH Project, MSH, MSPP, NGO and Private Sector Partners, and USAID in Health and Related Sectors.
4/ Public Relations and Public Events
• Coordinates and ensures presence of SDSH Communications Team at MSPP public events;
• Ensures online presence of SDSH in coordination with HQ;
• Ensures presence of SDSH in multi-media and other social media.
Qualifications Requises
QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelors Degree in Communications or Related Subject with a minimum of 4 years of college;
A Combination of College or University Studies and Work Experience in the Area of Communications;
Additional Training related to Communications useful;
Fluency in spoken and written Haitian Creole; spoken and written French; and spoken and written English
Knowledge of photography and videography preferred;
Knowledge of Microsoft Office indispensible;
Knowledge of Other Multi-Media Software desirable.
EXPERIENCE
At least 1 year of experience working directly in the field of communications or international development;
Experience working for an international NGO and/or for a USAID-funded project strongly preferred;
Ability to work under pressure and short deadlines;
Willingness to travel as much as required by the project;
Willingness and ability to work as a team;
Willingness and ability to learn from colleagues and others.
