Introduction

Field Engineers are the representative of CRS to supervise and monitor on-going construction projects (community infrastructure, yellow house repair/retrofit, demolition of red houses and potential permanent shelter) at various neighborhoods. They will ensure that all works should be carried out in accordance with approved construction drawings and specification. They will liaise directly with CRRP animators, community bosses and contractor’s supervisor in performing the daily activities on the project site.


Fonctions

Primary Functions:
Provide proper planning and construction management oversight for all related infrastructure community projects, yellow house repair, demolition of red houses, clearing of rubble and pilot permanent shelter associated water and sanitation.


Job Responsibilities:
• Conduct technical assessment and provides reports that will lead CRRP team member decisive decision making.
• Accomplish site inspections to ensure that construction is in accordance with CRS design drawings and specifications.
• Address field design changes with CRS management, partners, and stakeholders
• Prepare field reports as required by CRS management and maintain a filing system for proper and efficient project documentation.
• Evaluate and process service contract payments
• Evaluate performance of labor teams and/or contractors and issue site instruction of non-compliance when necessary
• Ensure that design concerns identified on site are raised to CRS management
• Coordinate with other CRS departments such as CRRP and community leaders concerning all aspects of project implementation as necessary
• Promote safety driven construction practices (safety culture) by regular review of project site safety initiatives and compliance by contractor
• Manages contractor’s site supervisors and community bosses to ensure that construction is in accordance with the design drawings and specification and/or other CRS quality control/quality assurance requirements,
• Provide construction schedule or work plan, weekly reports to E&C Project Engineer

Qualifications Requises

• Bachelors Degree in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, natural resource management, or equivalent field experience.
• 3 years experience in quality assurance / quality control, building inspection, or construction management, with a balanced awareness of how to effectively manage construction projects
• Knowledge of local building codes and design standards
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective inter-personal skills, consensus-building;
• Planning and organization, analytical approach;
• Demonstrated experience of integrity, professionalism
• Moderate spoken and written English skills highly preferred
• Computer literate (word, excel, MS Project)
