Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator (Haiti) for its recovery work related to the 2010 Haiti earthquake and supported by a grant from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The key focus of this role is to ensure strong links and lines of communication between Habitat and the community of Simon Pele to promote the highest level of community impact from Habitat’s programs. This position is based in the Habitat Resource Center in Simon Pele, and will also work occasionally from the Petion-ville office.

*Develop and maintain partnerships with a variety of community and other groups that will participate in Habitat for Humanity rebuilding efforts.
*Establish the Community Council and coordinate between it and Habitat for Humanity as required
*Represent Habitat for Humanity on the Community Council
*Guide and support the Community Council in the monitoring of community projects, especially community contracts
*Provide coordination between the many different work streams (repairs, trainings, infrastructure improvement, etc.), the Community Council and other community groups
*Ensure that different work streams are being consistent in their approach to engagement with the community
*Ensure that all key issues are raised and action points are documented and communicated to line manager
*Assist in the process of community planning and all outcomes/follow-ups, including follow-up with stakeholders as required
*Manage the selection of beneficiary families for all the project activities including repair/retrofit, training, strengthening the construction sector, etc., ensuring the participatory approach and gender equality with all activities.
