Introduction

IFRC has a commitment to construct or provide over 9500 transitional shelters throughout Port au Prince and the surrounding provinces. We are in need of highly skilled project managers and engineers to supervise staff, beneficiaries and contractors throughout the construction of our shelters.


Fonctions

Under the supervision of the senior construction field supervisor, the topographic surveyor will need to carry out the following duties:

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
 Supervise or conduct surveys to provide control data and supervises or perform topographic or geodetic computations to produce complete survey map / document.
 Work side by side with Mapping Specialist to record topographic survey data, operate survey instruments, and perform topographic computations. Construct and erect survey towers/stands. Transport, set up, operate, and maintain equipment according to written, oral or visual instructions from supervisors. Prepare abstract of field data for final computations.
 Make field checks with engineer before any construction to ensure field measurements meet project specifications/classifications.
 Perform observations, compare, and standardize/calibrate survey equipment. Compute and adjust first, second and third order horizontal/vertical control surveys. Compute elevations of tidal benchmarks and baselines. Perform preliminary/field computation to verify field observations for control surveys and compute preliminary values of horizontal and vertical control points.
 Direct and control personnel when acting as a survey party chief.
 Maintain special survey database of all land information.
 Assist in all survey examination activities and cadastral map presentation and auditing
 Perform other duties as required.
 Reporting:
 Establish a complete survey data/report/document.
 Coordination:
 Work together with mapping specialist to form a datebase of IFRC work sites.
 Computer skills:
 Microsoft Office and Excel
 AutoCAD experience desired (AutoCAD Land Desktop in specific)
 Other skills:
Various survey equipment knowledge, especially TOTAL STATION.
Ability to apply topographic and geodetic mapping requirements and standards
 Ensure effective working relationships with National Society counterparts and leadership.
 Ensure effective working relationship relationships with the Municipal Government responsible for the Zone in which you work, as well as MTPTC (National).


Qualifications Requises

 University degree in civil engineering, architecture or other related subjects.
 Technical Diploma/ certificate in construction.
 Experience in Red Cross or other NGO.
 Experience in Logistics.
 Experience in construction.
 Experience in Survey.
 Management Experience.
