Hygiene Promotion Specialist
Position based at PAP
Period: Three (3) months

The Hygiene Promotion Specialist provides technical support to WASH Managers and their staff on hygiene promotion strategy, tools, skill development, and monitoring & evaluation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Training; build capacity of hygiene promoters in core skills in line with project proposals.
• Tool development; compile existing hygiene promotion tools (or develop new where necessary) to fit requirements of hygiene promotion activities in field offices.
• Strategy; work with field office teams to set and monitor hygiene promotion strategy.
• Monitoring & evaluation; support WASH managers to design, field test, and implement quantitative and qualitative surveys, monitoring tools, and project evaluations. Compile resource folder of survey and assessment reports on WASH issues from all regions.
• Representation; attend WASH cluster and Hygiene Promotion sub cluster meetings, allocating approximately 10% of time to coordination activities.
• Internal coordination; identify areas for internal collaboration between WASH and other sectors, build strategic activity links.
• Partnership; identify suitable partners for WASH activities, assess capacity, build relationships.

• Bachelors Degree in Public health or social science degree.
• Participatory tools, report writing, survey design and implementation, hands on practical hygiene promotion, project management
• At least 5 years of work related experience.
