Islamic Relief (IR) is a UK based international relief and development charity which envisage a caring world where people unite to respond to the suffering of others, empowering them to fulfil their potential. Working in over 25 countries, Islamic Relief promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities to eradicate poverty, illiteracy and disease. We also respond to disasters and emergencies, helping people in crisis. Islamic Relief has been working in Haiti since the devastating earthquake of 2010. Throughout its disaster response programme in Haiti IR has provided affected communities with shelter, food, non-food items and water and sanitation services. Other services included rubbish collection and cash for work, school reconstruction and supporting vocational training centres. Currently Islamic Relief-Haiti programme is becoming more focused on shelter and school reconstruction.
Fonctions
Job Purpose:
Islamic Relief Haiti is seeking to employ a Program Coordinator to assist the Head of Mission as needed in the design of the programmes, identification, preparation, implementation, monitoring and Evaluation of projects. The post holder will be responsible for the overall coordination of IR-Haiti programmes including representing IR-Haiti in relevant coordination and cluster meetings.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
1. To assist in the preparation of a Country Strategy with Programme Manager and Head of Mission
2. Develop and produce quality project proposals and budgets in coordination with the HoM regarding various areas/sectors of intervention in Haiti, and in accordance with the priorities and guidelines established in the IR-Haiti country strategy.
3. Ensure that the programme design includes participatory methodologies, disaster risk reduction, community development, capacity building and equality.
4. Regularly review budget expenditure and suggest budget amendments to the HOM as appropriate.
5. Establishing a programme reporting system and prepare programme regular reports in a timely manner
6. Oversee and produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on IR programme activities in Haiti.
7. Coordinate the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all IR projects in Haiti.
8. Liaise and coordinate with authorities, organizations and agencies operating in the area.
9. Promote working in partnership with national and international organisations
10. Coordinate with international and other institutional donors local delegates in Haiti, and respond to their calls for proposals and funding opportunities.
11. Outline the resource requirement of projects and periodically assess their appropriateness to meeting short and long term needs.
12. Advise the HOM on the requirements for an adequate and appropriate response and recommend what extra resources should be called upon.
13. Be responsible for the creation and management of volunteers and supervision of their general welfare.
14. Assessing staff through the performance review process, assess with the staff their performance in fulfilling those objectives.
15. Ensuring that all necessary administration is carried out on the programme.
16. Oversee logistics and procurement needs of the program
17. Ensuring setting up and implementing a system to allow the control of resources in the project.
18. Building capacity of programme staff to raise their awareness of programme management issues, and developing their capacity.
19. Provide support to the HOM to make sure that security guidelines are updated and in place.
20. To carry out other responsibilities and duties within reason requested by the line manager.
Qualifications Requises
A degree in development, international relations or related field
