Introduction
Islamic Relief (IR) is a UK based international relief and development charity which envisage a caring world where people unite to respond to the suffering of others, empowering them to fulfil their potential. Working in over 25 countries, Islamic Relief promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities to eradicate poverty, illiteracy and disease. We also respond to disasters and emergencies, helping people in crisis. Islamic Relief has been working in Haiti since the devastating earthquake of 2010. Throughout its disaster response programme in Haiti IR has provided affected communities with shelter, food, non-food items and water and sanitation services. Other services included rubbish collection and cash for work, school reconstruction and supporting vocational training centres. Currently Islamic Relief-Haiti programme is becoming more focused on shelter and school reconstruction.
Funded by the Islamic Development Bank, Islamic Relief will soon start implementing its new school reconstruction project with an aims to reconstruct five schools that have been affected by the earthquake of 2010. We are currently recruiting for a Program Coordinator and Finance Officer positions for this project and would like to encourage qualified and enthusiastic professionals to apply.
Fonctions
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Prepare , analyse and review the finance payment to staff and supplier
Ensure the financial compliance of all payments with Islamic Relief Policies
Ensure proper authorization of all financial transactions before payments.
Prepare daily cash closing and get it reviewed by line manager
Issue advances to staff for operational activities and their timely liquidation.
Preparation of payroll and salary disbursement
Record all transaction in Quick Book
Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
Filing of all financial record in an adequate manner
Provide assistance to Finance & Admin Manager in internal and external audit
Review quotations from suppliers
Maintain contacts with the bank for better working relationship.
Preparation of monthly and adhoc basis financial reports of projects and share with Finance Manager for review
Provide assistance to Finance & Admin Manager in procurement like collect the quotation, preparation of bid evaluation, preparation of purchase orders
Liaise with government and other departments to meet regulatory requirement as and when required.
Any other assignment delegated by his supervisor
Qualifications Requises
Preferably Master Degree or Bachelor Degree in Accounting & Finance from a recognized institute.
Conditions particulières
2-3 Years experience in the field of accounting & finance (preferably one year with INGO)
Good interpersonal communication
On hands experience of Accounting software-Quick Books
Good team player and ability to work under stress
Proficient to use MS –Office Applications
Fluent in English and national languages.
Strong Knowledge of Accounting system and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
