Introduction

Chemonics International Inc. seeks a Project Engineer for its Haiti Recovery Initiative project located in Port-au-Prince, St. Marc, and Cap Haitien, Haiti.

The Project Engineer will assist in the supervision and oversight of a large range of infrastructure projects.


Fonctions

Main tasks:
• Provide technical direction for all infrastructure activities.
• Prepare cost estimates, plans, schedules, and technical scopes of work for proposed projects.
• Ensure that infrastructure and rehabilitation activities conform to required engineering designs and standards; and USAID environmental standards are adhered to during implementation.
• Conduct field site visits to monitor construction projects.
• Other related engineering and construction management activities, as assigned.


Qualifications Requises

Job Qualifications
• University degree in civil or structural engineering required, and experience in construction management preferred.
• Five years of progressively responsible work experience in construction management and supervision of new projects or complex rehabilitation projects.
• Experience with a USAID or donor-funded projects preferred.
• Experience working in complex field operations in unstable developing countries preferred. Previous experience working in Haiti is desirable.
• Knowledge and experience working with AutoCAD, and scheduling software preferred.
• Experience using mobile GPS units to locate activity intervention areas.
• Fluent English and French required; proficiency in Haitian Creole is preferred.
