INGO IS LOOKING FOR QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED CANDIDATES FOR THE POSITION OF ADVOCACY POLICY ADVISOR

PURPOSE
Under the leadership of the Child Rights Advocacy Manager, supports World Vision’s efforts to gather relevant information, analyze trends and context development, inform and elaborate policy briefings, and provide recommendations on key humanitarian, reconstruction and development processes in order to implement evidence-based policy influence strategy on key issues. This position is open for both national and international candidates.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Systematically monitor media, follow discussions and ongoing policy developments and research, gather and analyze information, monitor policy and program debates in country and internationally, and elaborate consistent, accurate, and timely reports on the main developments related to the political, legislative, humanitarian, and development situation in the country
• Provides analysis on national and international legal framework and policy implications
• Establish and maintain effective information sharing mechanisms with relevant stakeholders towards data collection and verification. Liaise with national and international stakeholders operating in the country and from Global Capitals towards providing timely inputs to the WV policy influence strategy, based on the developments in the field and the positioning of relevant actors.
• Conduct regular assessments of key sectors in Haiti to identify gaps in the provision of services, especially for children and youth
• Provide recommendations and support towards identifying and addressing key advocacy priorities and developing advocacy strategies, including the elaboration of policy monitoring tools
• Supervise production of publications and other materials, as required.
• Contribute to the production and/or produce policy positions, talking points, and briefs on the situation in key sectors
• Elaborates training materials and provides training and briefings to key staff members, as relevant, on key policy, legislative, humanitarian, and development issues.

Qualifications Requises
QUALIFICATIONS
• Post-graduate degree, preferably in Law, Social Sciences, or related fields.
• Understanding of national and international legal framework.
• Proficiency in French.
• Proficiency in English.
• Capacity to timely provide feedbacks to clients.
• Good analytical and communication skills.
• Strategic thinking.
• Good drafting, training, and reporting skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning.
• Excellent team-player.
• At least 1 year of previous professional experience.
• Previous experience in advocacy and/or strategic and policy analysis.
• Previous experience in working for NGOs, and/or IO.
PREFERRED: Proficiency in Haitian Creole.
