Interim Care Specialist

Fonctions
Job Purpose
In close collaboration and coordination with IBESR, the Interim Care Specialist will be responsible to review and assess existing interim care options; identify gaps, provide recommendations for improvement of current practice and development of safer and more efficient options; provide recommendations related to improved policy, regulation, procedure, and practice to ensure interim care for children that ensures their protection and well-being; and develop and strengthen existing interim care options for children, develop interim care training materials and conduct workshop on interim care options validated by IBERS.
Responsibilities
• Assess current local interim care practices, identify strengths and gaps
• Participate in and contribute to the IBESR working group on legal frame work and best practices to discuss gaps identified and recommend improvement based on international standards
• Provide recommendations and technical assistance for the development of interim care in collaboration with IBERS and WGSC partners to improve standards of care for children, that ensures reduction of risks and increase protection of children.
• Develop interim care training materials, train IBERS and local partners.
• Support IBESR to conduct national validation and dissemination workshop on adopted interim care.
Qualifications Requises
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES
• Master’s degree in social work or relevant discipline or Bachelor’s degree and experience combined;
• Between seven(7) to ten(10) years experience in the field of interim care for vulnerable children and thorough knowledge of interim care international standards;
• Experience in capacity building and in strengthening various duty bearers’ understanding of and response to child protection issues;
• Excellent interpersonal skills working with government partners;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
