Peace Dividend Marketplace - Haiti (PDM-H) is a project of Peace Dividend Trust that is supporting economic recovery in Haiti by encouraging local procurement of goods and services by international agencies, NGO, international and national companies, the Government of Haiti and other institutional buyers. The project supports private sector development and entrepreneurship, particularly among small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and woman-owned and managed businesses. PDM-H offers the following core services to registered buyers and suppliers free of charge: Business Verification, online procurement directory (www.buildingmarkets.org), tender distribution, business development, capacity development, and “Buy local, buy Haiti” policy advising and advocacy.
Fonctions
Position Overview: The Business Matchmaking Team Leader supports the ongoing mission of PDM-H as detailed above. He or she will be responsible for:
• Building strong relationship with international organizations and encouraging them to purchase more from local businesses;
• Working with institutional buyers to identify their procurement needs in particular areas (including both civilian and military institutions such as the UN, the international military forces and large international companies);
• Identifying local Haitian businesses that can respond to the identified procurement needs;
• Following-up on matches made to make sure that they are working and are sustainable;

Key Responsibilities and Duties
Business Matchmaking
• Responsible for encouraging more international organizations (IOs) to buy locally and use PDM-H’s free services;
• Develop a successful client outreach strategy with the wider business development team;
• Market PDM-H’s services to IOs and build strong working relationships with them;
• Establish MOUs with IOs with assistance of the Country Director;
• Work with the Matchmaking Operations Officer to generate business matchmaking reports that connect PDT-registered Haitian-owned companies to the procurement needs of international and national buyers;
• Identify procurement needs in priority sectors;
• Work with the Verification Team Leader to identify Haitian businesses that can respond to identified procurement needs;
• Assist in the development of and support of local procurement solutions, including organizing site visits, vendor days, feasibility assessments, and identifying emerging needs;
• Represent PDM-H at events, including trade fairs, meetings, etc.;
• Identify emerging trends in supply and demand in Haiti;
• Making présentations on PDM-H to Cluster Groups etc.
Supervision
• Manage the Business Matchmaking and Tender Distribution Officers and assistants;
• Conduct yearly performance reviews for Business Matchmaking, Tender Distribution Officers and assistants;
• Mentor team members;
• Responsible for continuous review and improvement of team systems and performance
• Responsible for quality control of all outputs from business matchmaking and Tender Distribution team
Coordination
• Coordinate with the Business Development Manager, the Matchmaking Officer and the Business Verification Team Leader on all matters related to matchmaking
• Share market insights with other team members for optimal project performance.
Reporting results
The Business Matchmaking Team Leader (BMTL) is responsible for providing high level professional services to the buyer community in Haiti. The BMTL operates in a results-oriented manner and is required to:
• Perform follow-up and closing of all matchmaking and Tender Distribution requests;
• Work with matchmaking and Tender Distribution officers to prepare and present up-to-date results on a weekly basis;
• Work with Business Development team to set and meet monthly matchmaking and Tender Distribution targets.
Other Duties
• Build and develop a team with competencies and skills for continued target realization and high-performance
• Review on an ongoing basis the performance of team members
• Provide support and guidance to team on new strategy and growth opportunity. The team consists of one (1) Business Matchmaking Officer, one (1) Senior Business Matchmaking and Tender Distribution Assistant and two (2) Business Matchmaking and Tender Distribution Assistants.
• Training and coaching of new staff
• Conduct any other duties as assigned by management team
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in business administration/communications or equivalent practical experience;
• In-depth knowledge of Haitian business sectors;
• Experience managing multiple stakeholder relationships;
• Creative mindset and ability to structure and find solutions to complex problems;
• Energetic and efficient, results- oriented;
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
