The following requirements will apply to this position:

Several years experience in Quantity Surveying for simple earthquake proof buildings /Structures including:

o Single and two storey reinforced concrete beam and pier structures with suspended concrete floor or slab on ground .Brick or masonry infill
o Timber and corrugated iron clad buildings.
o Concrete, steel or timber bridges.
o Renovation /Repair and Retrofitting of Yellow Houses
o Electrical , Plumbing and Mechanical Facilities
o Water Filtration System , Water catchment and Waste Water Treatment facilities
o Modular Latrine, Community Base Toilets and specific System
o Churches and or Chapels.
o Schools
o Hospital and Clinic
o Landscaping
o And the likes

• Be Familiar with standard drawing and documentation for the above for contracting or use by a day labour force
• Measurement of new and refurbished projects from design and documentation prepared in the project Office or by consultants.
• Develop a close working liaison the project Engineers and Architects.
• Measuring and assessment of progress payments.
• Develop a close liaison with local and national government authorities and incorporate national standards into measurement of projects
• Establish a simple system for recording the measurement of new and refurbished works.
• Some field visits will be necessary and may necessitate staying overnight in remote locations.

It is essential that the successful applicant is prepared to work extended hours, often in difficult circumstances.
It is preferred that the successful applicant has written and spoken English.

 Degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized University and several years of experience in the construction industry.
 Honest, mature and independent and fast learner.
 Having experience in filing system.
 Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines as well as in a team .
 Proficiency in software applications including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Power Point.
 Good spoken English Skills.
 General understanding of finance /accounting would be an advantage.
 Willing to learn and follow instruction form supervisor.
