Fonctions
Role Purpose:
Provide patient healthcare for the nutrition program implemented in our partner areas in southern Haiti.
Under the supervision of the Nutrition Coordinator, the Pediatrician will work directly with the Nutrition team. The Pediatrician is responsible for, but not limited to, providing healthcare services for our nutrition program (on site and at the Infirmary St. Etienne (ISE)) and at mobile clinics in our partner communities, assisting in the planning and implementation of the nutrition program, and monitoring and evaluation. He/She will work closely with the Hope for Haiti team, medical partners, beneficiary schools, community health workers and community leadership to assist in the efficient and effective implementation of Hope for Haiti’s public health programming. The Pediatrician will also work alongside the ISE Doctors at the ISE and mobile clinics when needed.
Essential Duties and Tasks
Perform thorough physical examinations to assess the overall health status of children and identify any underlying health conditions.
Diagnose illnesses and develop individualized treatment plans for children.
Prescribe medications and necessary therapeutic interventions while ensuring appropriate use and adherence.
Develop health monitoring schedules and perform regular check-ups to evaluate progress.
Collaborate with local community health workers, caregivers, and stakeholders to promote child health and nutrition
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each child, including health assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Prepare and submit timely reports on the health outcomes and challenges faced in the field to program coordinators.
Participate in planning and strategy sessions to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes for children.
Assist coordinating referrals to external medical services or specialists when necessary.
Stay updated with current best practices in pediatric care and nutrition.
Assist the Nutrition Coordinator and Public Health Manager with planning, budgeting and implementing the Nutrition Program when it’s needed.
Keep an updated inventory of medical supplies and medications used in the field.
Anticipate needs and prepare timely requests for replenishing medications and medical supplies to ensure uninterrupted care.
Qualifications Requises
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Medical License issued by MSPP
Advanced skills in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Tools and Internet
Experience in public health
Experience in nutrition programs
Knowledge in project Monitoring and Evaluation
Good written and reporting skills
Ability to write and speak in French and Haitian Creole, English preferred
Passion and enthusiasm for non-profit work
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and joyful demeanor
Ability to work and establish good relationships with co-workers, partners, and non-partners
Ability to walk distances of over 10 kilometers at varying elevations and to lift 30 pounds over shoulders.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
National candidates only. Benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, maternity and parental leave. This is a full-time/remote position based in Les Cayes. This position is NOT accompanied, and the organization provides no relocation, logistics, or housing packages.
