Introduction

The Administrative and Finance Manager (AFM) is to provide critical expertise and insight into the performance of HOPE’s ministries and act as an essential resource to the field by strengthening local capacity in key areas of responsibility. The AFM will assist the Haiti Country Director (CD) with the development and sustainability of HOPE-Led Savings Group program (SG) throughout Haiti. The role will focus on financial and administrative management, quality systems and processes, and expertise supporting establishment, delivery, and continuous improvement of SG ministries, building partner relationships with individuals, organizations, and churches.


Fonctions

Promote and fulfill the mission and vision of HOPE International.

Financial Management
Ensure full adherence by HOPE International Haiti (HIH) to all HOPE financial policies and procedures
Oversight of partner ministries financial management
Interface with CSU finance department on country financial reporting and related policy, processes, and documentation

Manage cash needs and handle the payment and tracking of expenditures

Manage the HOPE Haiti office daily bookkeeping and accounting records

Submit requests for funding to HOPE International in a timely manner with appropriate documentation

Ensure the achievement of ministerial goals and objectives while remaining within the budget set out for HOPE Haiti and partners

Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental regulation for HOPE International Haiti

Relationship Management
Support the CD in managing the relationship between HOPE and its partners in Haiti to ensure the longevity and continued growth of the program

Provide administrative support to ministry staff through high level oversight as well as hands-on training, motivation, guidance and logistics support
Spiritual Integration and Christian Witness

Assist the CD and implement a spiritual integration plan for the ministry in Haiti that contains clear goals and metrics against which to measure progress toward goals

Participate actively in the weekly devotions and prayer among staff of both the church partners as well as HOPE Haiti in order to maintain a focus on the program’s Christ-centered mission and vision and to promote spiritual growth among staff, group members and other associated parties

Ensure a healthy spiritual balance within your family, work and church life through the adoption of Biblical, personal, spiritual disciplines

Planning
Assist the CD to collaborate with Operations Manager to develop and implement annual business plans for the growth and development of the church partners, the Savings Group ministry, and for HOPE International Haiti (HIH)

Work with ministry leadership to create yearly financial budget and operational forecast
Collaborate with HOPE’s SG Operations team and Finance Business Partner to ensure the ministry is following in HOPE methodology and best practices for SGs in their activities

Participate in the definition of appropriate performance and targets

Reporting
Equipping ministry partners to understand, complete and utilize monthly reporting.

Ensure that HOPE International and the church partner reporting deadlines are met for the various province level reports and individual diocese reports

Help the country leadership to ensure the timely submission of reports required for internal monthly reporting, auditors, and other parties

Evaluate HOPE Haiti’s monthly budget to actual reporting in Adaptive and efficiency metrics via Power Bi dashboards

Meeting regularly with Haiti CD to discuss program finances

Systems, Assets and Risk Management
As directed by the CD, implement HOPE risk mitigation systems to review, report and mitigate areas of risk within the organization

Ensure that HOPE Haiti assets are secure and maintained

HOPE International Ambassador
Show hospitality to HOPE International or related visitors to the ministry: This includes the establishment and creation of appropriate itineraries, overseeing logistics, and accurately representing HOPE International as directed by the CD

Responsible to know the contents of the HOPE Network Membership Guide and to establish and implement a plan for its compliance and a good rating

Other Responsibilities
Lead development and implementation of special projects as requested by the CD

Implement other initiatives as assigned by the CD

Represent the CD as requested by the CD in working with various stakeholders in Haiti


Qualifications Requises

Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International.

Financial
Qualifying degree in finance, accounting, business administration, international development or similar field of study

A minimum of five years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping required

Understanding of, and demonstrated experience with financial accounting principles, processes and systems

Experience using QuickBooks and NetSuite preferred
Relational and Experiential

Fluent in spoken and written Creole and/or French, English (ILR level 3+ or higher)

Excellent written, verbal and computer-based communication skills

Passionate to help people that have been brought low by poverty or other circumstances to regain hope, dignity, and the ability to support themselves and their families

Assertive self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team

Two or more years of experience in international development work preferred


Conditions de travail

Standard working hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The maximum number of nights away from home for both domestic and international travels for any HOPE Haiti employee is 75.
