Introduction
The ITI is responsible for planning, teaching, and evaluating digital literacy courses at HELP, and for collaborating with the IT Coordinator (ITC) on all aspects of the program. The ITI reports to the ITC and helps ensure that staff and students are fluent in computer-based professional skills. In addition to facilitating courses at HELP, the ITI works with the ITC and the IT Manager (technical) to maintain HELP’s computer lab and ensure that all other educational technology resources are current. Responsibilities include planning and facilitating IT courses for students, managing information technologies and resources needed for HELP courses (including the computer lab).
Fonctions
Summary of Responsibilities: Below are the major responsibilities and tasks related to this position. Please note that this summary is not exhaustive.
• Teaching 3-4 classes (weekly) including: planning and preparation of classes, office hours, evaluations and tutoring (approximately 10 hours/week)
• Assist ITC in planning and facilitating orientation activities (punctual, during orientation period)
• Assist ITC with extracurricular activities (approx. 5 hours / week)
• Administrative tasks, including reporting and basic computer lab maintenance (approx. 5 hours / week)
Qualifications Requises
Minimum Qualifications :
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or Education, or professional certificates in IT or Administration
• 2 years of job-related work experience
• Mastery of Microsoft Office, typing, and social media programs, teaching methods, effective written and oral communications skills, ability to identify hardware/software issues
• French and Creole. English is an asset.
