Brief Overview of the Economic Development Program:
Our Economic Development Program invests and supports the social and economic development of education, healthcare, sustainable agriculture, technology, and renewable energy. Various forms of cash and voucher assistance (CVA) (traditional and digital), loans, grants, and training are used to reinforce the financial independence and leadership skills of beneficiaries in HFH communities and those in and around the Sud Department.
Role Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Economy Program Manager, the Senior Program Officer will work closely with the Economic Development Team in supporting loan disbursements, financial literacy training, and programmatic needs. The Senior Program Officer is responsible for, but not limited to, coordination of field officers as well as identifying challenges and opportunities to understand the resources needed. This includes frequent travel into the field.
The range of responsibilities of the Senior Program Officer requires a professional leader who is a flexible and patient person with a strong capacity for problem-solving, organization, and task orientation.
Essential Duties and Tasks
Provide support for assigned programs/projects, ensuring all program objectives and goals are met
Work with field personnel on project related services, and serve as primary point of contact between assigned field officers
Frequent travel to field to monitor program implementation and provide technical assistance
Report on any problems encountered in the field such as project participant complaints, local authority interference, security threats
Provide updates, reports and critical analysis of field visits
With the Program Manager, develop strong relationships and open lines of communication with communities, including, community leaders, and borrowers
Conduct agripreneurship, financial literacy, business development training to program beneficiaries
Provide continuous re-orientation and training to beneficiaries
Design and develop training modules, visual aids, participatory tools and other materials as needed
Participate in relevant networking forums at department and country level
Support in documenting and sharing success/impact stories quarterly
Oversee of all group loan activities and report on monthly implementation plans
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Requises
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field
Experience of at least 5 years in a similar position or experience working in international development, microfinance, administration and compliance of a field-based international development or humanitarian program required
Experience in managing field or loan officers required
Advanced skills in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Tools and Internet
Experience in facilitating training in Management, Administration, Economics, Accounting Sciences, or other related disciplines
Good written and reporting skills
Ability to write and speak in French, Haitian Creole, AND English
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and joyful demeanor
Ability to work and establish good relationships with co-workers, partners, and non-partners
Ability to walk distances of over 10 kilometers at varying elevations and to lift 30 pounds over shoulders
