Fonctions
Purpose:
The job holder will work in close collaboration with the Project Manager and will provide thematic support on child protection in all aspects in relation to the Generation Change programme; including the planning, the implementation, monitoring / supervision and evaluation of activities. A considerable share of the role will contribute to capacity strengthening of staff of Plan and partners on child protection in view of strengthening quality of the CP component of the project, including adherence to norms, standards and guidelines related to child protection and the global Protection from violence area.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and technical support on child protection to Plan International Haiti and partners ensuring that the child protection component of the program is planned and implemented in accordance with Plan’s and international child protection standards and best practices (such as CPiE minimum standards, INSPIRE, CP system strengthening approaches, UN guidelines on alternative care);
• In collaboration with the overall responsible project manager and partners, carry out capacity gap mapping and analysis with Plan International Haïti and partner staff, design and carry out tailored CP capacity strengthening activities as well as already existing training modules from the global child protection training package (to be launched January 2021) to support better implementation of the project;
• Contribute to the establishment of an implementation plan and a monitoring and evaluation framework for initiatives related to child protection;
• Support the assessment, collection and analysis of documentation and data on issues of violence and those related to child and youth protection mechanisms;
• Contribute to the process of partnership agreements requirements and/or contracts and protocols or MoUs with consultants, partners according to the minimum standards in respect to child rights and youth protection;
• Ensure that activities undertaken on behalf of Plan International Haiti externally or internally are carried out in accordance with the goals of the existing program expectations and policies and procedures of Plan International.
Qualifications Requises
Knowledge, Skills, Behaviors, and Experience Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives :
• Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in Child protection programmatic work or related areas with demonstrated knowledge and experience from the CP area
• Knowledge on national and local child protection system strengthening approaches
• Experience working with social norms change and programs addressing the root causes leading to violence against children and youth, with focus on girls and young women.
• Knowledge of policies and frameworks in place to protect children
• Working experience in a similar role in bilateral organizations or INGOs.
• University degree or equivalent in Social Work, Psychology, Law, Gender, Human Rights Law, International Relations, Sociology, Public Administration or related fields, or equivalent knowledge gained.
• Experience working directly with children at risk is desirable.
• Experience in project management;
• Have experience in community development and children's rights as well as working with partners;
• Fluency in French and English, knowledge of Spanish is an asset;
• Good skills in strategic programming and policy development;
• Good ability to communicate theoretical concepts of advocacy and / or influence, gender equality;
• Efficient interpersonal relationships ;
• Availability for periodic field visits.
