This positon is very important for Haiti Leadership team, since is an integral member of the Haiti leadership team, this important position is responsible for the management of the entire financial aspects of the Habitat For Humanity Haiti program. A key focus of this position is to provide expert grants management and oversight for multiple grants from bi- and multi-lateral donors. The incumbent will have both stratetic & operationa responsibilities and also leads the budgeting process for the Haiti operations, provides leadership to the finance team and other staff in Haiti and leads the development and implementation of policies and procedures, including appropriate internal controls. This position is based in Port-au-Prince and will require occasional travel in Haiti and internationally up to 10% of the time.

Key Strategic Responsibilites include:
*Ensure the achievement of financial expectations/requirements from multi-lateral donors, including reports, transfers, audits, etc.
*Manage all grant reporting functions, including Proposal's Budgets
*Hire, manage and develop finance department staff in Haiti
*Leading the preparation of the annual budget of the orgnization and elaborate necessary cash flows
*Ensure proper donor's budget mapping
*Lead the decision-making process about major purchases, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures
*Review and implement standard operating policies and procedures to ensure compliance with global organizational policies and local laws
*Key Operational Responsibilities include:
*Prepare Program Budgets
*Ensure proper control procedures are developed & implemented as needed.
*Prepare and integrate information needed for solid accountability within the organization (monthly, quarterly financial accounts).
*Ensure audit recommendations related to the finance department has been implemented.
*Update the financial manual
*Approve expenses within his/her assigned level and according to policy
*Promote and support departmental teamwork and accountability
*Ensuring regular cash count of field office'petty cash is done regularly
* Ensure regular internal control visits are conducted on the sites
*Develop/adapt trainings plans for special projects in streamlining their overall financial management
*Act as key member of the Haiti management team, contributing to overall strategy and providing financial information to ensure well-informed decisions are made

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field
*5 years of related finance management and leadership experience including internal controls, grant-accounting and financial analysis
*3+ years of experience in international accounting
*Grant accounting and grant compliance experience with bi- and multi-lateral donors such as USAID, EU, ECHO, GLOBAL AFFAIRS, World Bank, etc.
*Experience writing policies and procedures as well as process evaluation
*Fluency in written and spoken English
*Experience with complex accounting software
*Experience living and working in a developing country context

PREFERRED:
*Language skills in French, Spanish and/or Haitian Creole
*CPA or similar accounting qualification
*Experience with Sun System software

Office setting in post-disaster environment that may involve difficult and stressful conditions (unstable conditions, irregular travel conditions and transportation means, etc). The position involves up to 10% travel.
