Introduction

The mission of Project Medishare is to improve the health and quality of life of all Haitians. Project Medishare empowers Haitians to provide and receive access to comprehensive, quality health care. Rather than simply “give «Haitians health care and related services through aid and medical missions. Project Medishare helps Haitians help themselves through grassroots public health initiatives and by investing in the training and employment of local medical professionals.


Fonctions

The Program Manager shall work under direction of the Country Director

A. PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is threefold:

A. Program Coordination and Development: To support the coordination and developments of several ongoing Project Medishare programs including
- Community Health
- Mobile Clinic
- School Health
- Chlorine
- Nutrition

B- Staff and Community Education and Formation: To lead and oversee health education planning for communities and to develop and implement a yearly educational curriculum for the community Health Agents.


C- Visiting Groups: Assist in the planning for an oversight of visiting groups to the Central Plateau

DESCRITPTION OF DUTIES

A. PROGRAM COORDINATION AND DEVELOPMENT

a- Community Health Program
- Aid in the development of clearly defined roles and responsibilities for each employee working under community health and develop monthly calendar that quantifies expectations of the activities of each staff members both weekly/monthly, develop internal system for recording and reporting adherence to calendar as well as noncompliance.
- Responsible for the direct supervision of the community health coordinators and indirect supervision of the community health and indirect supervision of all ASCP.
- Develop a monthly calendar that outlines the location and objective/message (as needed) of all community health activities along with employee facilitators Calendar to be turned in by the 15th of the month prior.

b- Mobile Clinics
- In conjunction and conversations with Clinic Administrator community health coordinators and head pharmacist, coordinate the monthly mobile clinic calendar is due to 15th of the month prior.
- Work with ASCP to promote and coordinate each clinic.
- Establish a referral system that better integrates patients from mobile clinics with Medishare’s fixed clinical facilities, implement system in conjunction with the Clinic Administrator and facilitate use of system with visiting group

c- School Health
- Create a Protocol for each school health visit outlining objectives and procedures as well a roles and responsibilities of each school health team member
- Develop materials and a curriculum to facilitate more successful interventions at each school.
- From September to June create a monthly calendar for schools to be operations to ensure transportations availability as needed and is due on the team drive by the 15th of the month prior.

d- Chlorine
- Aid in the development of clear notes and responsibilities for each chlorine plant team member and determination of monthly production and distribution targets.
- Work with ASCP and health committee members to determine better means for distributing chlorine in the communities.
- Work with OEV program manager to incorporate chlorine distribution both into school programming and for children personal use

e- Nutrition Program
- Oversee the enrollment of children referred from ASCP to the malnutrition program based upon MSPP guidelines
- Responsible for ensuring follow-up with ASCP for each child referred
- Write protocol for home visit for each enrolled child medical exam ans how to provide direct counsel to the relevant caretakers regarding children’s nutrition, the program and the caretaker’s role in aiding their child’s return to good health, create needed materials and train staff

B- STAFF AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND FORMATION
- Develop and coordinate the annual curriculum for monthly ASCP meetings and facilitate education as needed or find appropriate staff to facilitate depending on topics Use calendar to set educational objectives for all ASCP for the month and develop system to evaluate educational retention. Calendar should be submitted at the end of December for upcoming year.
C- VISITING GROUP
- Assist in the planning of activities for visiting groups including but not limited to calendar creation, logistics planning, and MSPP approval.
- Accompany group throughout their trip and report any problem issues immediately to the CD
- Submit a trip report after each group’s visit that details successes and failures of the trip along with relevant dat points to share with the group and ideas for improvement.

Qualifications Requises

3 years’ experience as Doctor have a specialization in community health or public health ? 5 years’ experience as Nurse working in community health or public health
? Able to analyze and solve problems effectively and efficiently
? Good time management while respecting deadlines
? Works well under pressure and can multitask
? Works well as a team with management and staff at all levels.
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel and Google applications)

? Fluency in French and Creole required; English an asset
