Hopestart International is a Christian 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in Jérémie, Haïti, that exists to provide care for the orphaned and create hope for families in Haiti, through Christian motivated care, relationships, and training. Our mission is to share the love and hope of Jesus with children in Haiti by meeting critical needs and equipping the next generation.
Fonctions
Under the authority and supervision of the Directors, the Full-time employee is responsible for applying our mission and vision in the management oversight and execution of counseling activities between Hopestart International: Children, staff, and family members. These responsibilities will include: evaluating children and families while implementing & monitoring care plans, assisting our social worker with family reintegration, reunification and preservation plans. These requirements of Hopestart International Children’s Home in Jérémie, Haiti, are as described herein:
? Develop and implement an internal system for trauma informed care
? Provide all counseling needs of Hopestart International children and complete necessary reporting
? Evaluate, manage and keep current all children’s psychological files
? Develop and implement a psychological care plan within our Family Hope strategy: family reunification, aftercare & family preservation
? Provide counseling support to families before, during and after reunifications
? Work closely with Directors, Social Worker, Orphanage Supervisor and staff as needed
? Meet weekly with Directors providing updates
? Identify needs and arrange for psychological and social support to children and families
? Provide recommendations for children which require special assistance
Qualifications Requises
- Degree in Counseling
- Experience working with children
- Kreyol, French and English written and verbal
- Computer skills: Typing and organization skills
- Proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Self starter with strong independent work habits while maintaining team unity
