An international organization is looking for an HIV specialist who can become part of its team on a Full-Time basis. This position will coordinate and manage functions and activities regarding HIV programs within the departments. The role will provide training on various topics such as sexual health, prevention education, HIV/STI testing and education, and other related topics. Must be qualified to train and supervise personnel who perform rapid HIV/HCV testing. Must be able to perform HIV risk assessments, testing, and other HIV High Impact Prevention activities. The position also will provide education to patients and their partners about HIV prevention and control. The position will serve as a liaison to community and program partners and assist with managing HIV-related grants.
Fonctions
Collaborate with external partners for activities related to the prevention of HIV and viral hepatitis and to identify referral resources, public awareness, and provider education and training
Coordinate all planning and delivery procedures for testing and counseling services
Provide training to implement infectious disease testing in clinical and non-clinical settings.
Conduct visits to ensure quality assurance and best practices are being implemented in various clinical and non-clinical settings
Assist with grant program implementation, reporting, and securing future funding for program
Assist with design, develop and maintain all primary prevention and community education pamphlets as needed
Demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to primary prevention, community organizing, and community planning
Over time, develop proficiency in program evaluation and demonstrate that prevention strategies reduce risk factors
Identify, train and utilize cross department staff to maximize agency community education/awareness coverage
As needed, consult with team members and / or perform confidential STD and HIV partner case management services
Provide health education and risk reduction counseling for clients who test positive for HIV/STD or determined to be high-risk negatives
Coordinate, supervise and document condom distribution efforts within the agency and community at large
Oversee special programs and events.
Attend community and citywide meetings, health fairs, workshops, presentations and screenings, as assigned.
Qualifications Requises
Degree in Public Health, Education, Healthcare delivery and Human Services field or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
Must be comfortable working in a clinic setting and community setting.
Minimum of 3 years experience in community outreach or public services.
Knowledge of computer operating systems.
Possess culturally competent skills/experience working with diverse populations.
Attendance at evening or weekend meetings, events, and activities may be required.
Working knowledge of HIV/AIDS, STIs, PrEP, PEP a plus.
3-5 years of supervisory experience
