Fonctions
This position is exciting, fast-paced and serves both a patient care provider and translator for our air medical transport teams. Duties consist of
Functioning on the air medical helicopter as a care provider, providing translation services between flight crew and patients, medical staff, and others.
Teaching medical education and landing zone safety courses.
Qualifications Requises
• English is the official language of all aviation and therefore our operations, excellent fluency is required
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing of English, Kreyol and French; Spanish a plus
• Must be able to multi-task and remain calm in emergency situations
• Basic computer skills required (word, excel, web-based programs)
• Willingness to attend significant training and certification programs both in Ayiti and the United States.
• Ability be assertive and to control large crowds and assure Landing Zone safety.
• Ability to work in a confined space while flying without suffering claustrophobia, motion sickness, or other debilitating issue
• Must be able to lift up to 25 kg independently and be able to assist in carrying adult patients
• Must have at least 3 years of direct patient care experience
• Current CPR, trauma care, or other medical certifications are a plus
• Possession of a US Visa for training and education is a plus
• Ability to speak and teach groups of people is required
• Self-motivation and the ability to see tasks that need to be completed and do them without direction is a must
• Dedicated professionalism while working independently
Conditions de travail
This position is supervised by the Lead EMT, Chief Flight Nurse, and Program Director. It is based in Port-au-Prince.
