Introduction
Caris Foundation International is an NGO involved in the care for Orphans and Vulnerable Children. Caris is the recipient of a grant USAID, awarded to carry out the project IMPACT YOUTH, a comprehensive program for OVCs and their households.
Caris Foundation International is looking for a Finance Director and Administration who will be responsible for financial and administrative aspects of the project. The Director of Finance and Administration will establish and maintain sound financial management practices and ensure the project’s compliance with CARIS Foundation International and USAID acquisition and agreement procedures, rules and regulations.
Fonctions
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Accounting Department
Define and execute the performance plan for the team members
Prepare and update the cash forecast on a monthly basis
Track CARIS bank accounts and maintain good relationships with banks
Update the list of signatories on bank accounts
Check unexpected cash at least once a month
Design new procedures, new tools to improve the work of the department
Ensure that transactions are well codified before closing each month
Authorize entry in Quickbooks related to payroll charges and overheads linked to Grants
Prepare yearly US tax report
Prepare and submit financial report on time for reviewing and submitting to donors
Represent the institution in meetings with donors
Ensure implementation of audit recommendations when applicable
Monitor budget trend
Assist partners
Assist Monitoring and Evaluation team for special report
Ensure clear, safe and transparent procurement process
Ensure accountability through accounting documentations and booking
All other task related to finance and administration
Qualifications Requises
The Director of Finance and Administration must have the following qualifications, skills, and expertise:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting, or a related field;
At least eight (8) years of experience in accounting and/or financial management including the management and oversight of donor-funded project budgets and financial reporting;
At least eight (8) years of experience in organizational and administrative management in an international context;
Strong knowledge of financial accounting software, including USAID and PEPFAR financial dashboards (DATIM, DevResults, etc.), and related computer applications especially Excel, MS Word
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in French and English (important); working knowledge of Haitian Kreyol is preferred.
