Position: Citizenship & Leadership Program Manager (C&LPM)

Fonctions

The C&LPM is responsible for the design and delivery of all major components of the C&L program. S/he reports to the Academic Director (AD) and supervises the C&L Instructors, the Service-Learning staff, and the C&L interns. Responsibilities include: developing and implementing curricular and extra-curricular activities that advance leadership learning, managing program resources, leading the C&L program’s administrative tasks, overseeing the Service-Learning program activities, and collaborating with the AD and the C&L Instructors to improve the program structure, curricula and practices. The C&LPM is also frequently called upon to represent the C&L program to visitors, donors, etc. Proficiency in English and Creole (or French), as well as in educational technologies is a requirement.


Qualifications Requises

1) Bachelor’s degree (education, social sciences or leadership preferred)
2) Strong teaching background (minimum of 2 years preferred)
3) Experience in leadership or civics instruction (Two years, minimum)
4) Strong writing skills
5) Ability to adapt to demanding and possibly difficult environments and situations
6) Sense of initiative, ability to work independently and as part of a team
7) Fluency in spoken and written English and Creole (or French)
8) Experience using the Moodle knowledge platform is an asset


Conditions particulières

• Shared administrative duties including: Reporting, organizing meetings, updating database (with information pertinent to C&L program), hiring and training program staff, resource management. Collaboration with the AD to inform curriculum development and provide information for monitoring and evaluation purposes. (approximately 15 hours/week)
• Teaching (approx.) 2 classes weekly and training C&L Instructors, including: planning and preparation, ensuring effective standard-based instruction, office hours/tutoring, and evaluations. (approximately 10 hours/ week)
• Supervising the Service-Learning staff and reviewing program activities (approximately 5 hours/ week)
• Extra-curricular responsibilities, including: collaborating with the Dorm Coordinator on student leadership development, organizing staff leadership development activities, coordinating Fanm Rasin Lakay (HELP’s women’s empowerment group), Leader’s Day, and other extra-curricular activities related to leadership development. (approximately 10 hours / week)

6. Employee demonstrates a positive and collaborative attitude and represents the institution well inside and outside of HELP.
