• Months of employment: May through July 2019 (exact dates to be agreed based on applicant availability within this timeframe)
• Potential to be full time or part time within this time period
• Purpose of Role: To elaborate and complete a socioeconomic baseline assessment required for a community development project which aims to improve the livelihoods of rural Haitian families through the improvement of working equid health and welfare
• Work alongside Fondation Quatre Pattes, a Haitian animal welfare organisation, and liaison with World Horse Welfare, a UK based international equine charity.
Main activities:
• To design a baseline assessment to measure socioeconomics of rural communities surrounding Port-au-Prince for approval by World Horse Welfare and Quatre Pattes.
• To carry out the field baseline assessment.
• To analyse the data collected from the field assessment.
• Completion of a baseline report for the data obtained.
Qualifications Requises
Experience of UK Aid, Department for International Development, USAID or equivalently sized projects.
• A background in human development particularly in rural communities.
• Living in Haiti, or is able to live in Haiti for the duration of this contract period.
• Experience of working in Haiti or similar unstable countries.
• Good French, Creole and English language skills (spoken and written).
