Introduction

NRECA International is managing and operating a 10MW HFO-diesel power plant in the north of Haiti. Funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development in partnership with the Government of Haiti, the Pilot Project for Sustainable Electricity Distribution power utility provides modern electricity services to the Caracol Industrial Park where it is located, and the surrounding communes.


Fonctions

NRECA International is seeking to hire an accountant for this project. The accountant will reside in Caracol, Haiti, and report to The Chief of Party, the Administrative & Financial Manager, the and/or the person appointed by them. The duties and responsibilities are as follows:

• Prepare the payroll every two weeks.
• Book the payroll information in the accounting system.
• Prepare and monitor taxes and contributions payments, related to the payroll.
• Monitor TCA taxes payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly and monitor daily cash flows.
• Responsible for the monthly cash counting and reconciliation.
• Prepare the information to pay annual bonus to employees and/or other adjustments as instructed by the Administrative and Finance Manager.
• Prepare the reconciliation between bank account and collection reports.
• Prepare the journal entries to book revenue and collection data in the accounting system.
• Prepare journal entries monthly to book all the accounting transactions.
• Prepare financial statements.
• Prepare financial reports and distribute them as required.
• Maintain necessary work papers for auditors and year-end financial reporting.
• Promptly report discrepancies in accounts to the Administrative and Finance Manager.
• Assist with all necessary and reasonable internal accounting control.
• Assist the Administrative and Finance Manager in budget preparation.
• Support the Administrative and Finance Manager for audits.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrative/Finance Manager.
• Follow all instructions provided by PPSELD/NRECA.


Qualifications Requises

• A degree in Accounting.
• Minimum four years of experience in accounting.
• Excellent working level skill in French, Creole and English (or Spanish) is required.
