Introduction

The Procurement and Supply Management project will be the primary vehicle through which USAID will 1) procure and provide health commodities, 2) provide technical assistance to improve partner countries’ management of the supply chain, and 3) collaborate with key international stakeholders to support global health initiatives. The Haiti office will work under two of the project’s task orders (HIV/AIDS and Population and Reproductive Health) to provide commodities and supply chain technical assistance.


Fonctions

Under the supervision of the Logistics & Inventory Officer, the driver ensures that all the passengers are driven safely to meetings, workshops, and other work-related destinations; and that the PSM vehicle under his charge is maintained in an optimal working condition.
The Driver supports the team with the highest integrity in daily logistic support. This includes missions in the field and the availability to work after 4:30 PM and weekends. This position requires knowledge of the roads and road regulations of Haiti, knowledge of safety procedures and basic vehicle maintenance, attention to detail, commitment and willingness to support the programming mission of PSM, punctuality, teamwork, initiative, and responsiveness.

Tasks:
Specific tasks to be completed under this SOW are as follows:
• Drives PSM staff and consultants to meetings, field missions;
• Collects and delivers mail, packages and equipment;
• Obtains security clearance for field missions where necessary;
• Ensures that the assigned vehicle is compliant with the USAID minimum operating standards and PSM’s Vehicle Policy requirements;
• Performs minor repairs, and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean and in good running condition at all times;
• Ensures safety and custody of the vehicle, including tools;
• Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, registration, logs, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts are in the assigned vehicle;
• Exchanges relevant information and maintains an open line of communication with colleagues and his supervisor;
• Perform any other duties required by the Supervisor;


Qualifications Requises

• Valid driver’s license Type A and Type B
• Conversant with the road network and traffic regulations of Haiti;
• 3 years’ work experience as a driver in an international organization, USAID system with a safe driving record;
• Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies;
• Skills in minor vehicle repairs;
• Ability to work under pressure and without close supervision;
• Ability to work in a team and possess interpersonal communication capabilities;
• High school degree;
• Fluent in Creole and good knowledge in French;
