KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Duties
 Conduct risk assessments (RAS) for ongoing projects and new projects, as well as develop
strategies to prevent or avoid them.
 Conduct security briefings for new employees of SCI and visitors to the Organization (in English,
French and Creole).
 Organize and give training on personal safety to employees / teams on the ground.
 Monitor the staff-training database, especially the mandatory PSS course (safety course).
 Collect and translate security incidents, upload them to the SC Reporter database and follow up
with them.
 Review and update key documents: SSMP, PDI, field reports and translate them, if necessary
from English into French or Creole.
 Maintain a good and strong relationship with UNDSS and other INGOs
 Participate in security coordination meetings and other security forums in Haiti.
 Organize security logistics for visits from donors and other high profile visitors.
 Make constant monitoring of the security situation in Haiti provide feedback on planned the field
missions prior to approval from the CD.
 Responsible for the security of Save the Children facilities (in Port-au-Prince, Dessalines, Sud &
Grand’Anse Department),
 Organize drills (communications, evacuations, etc.) based on different scenarios. Report to the
Regional Security Office.
 Availability to respond to any security emergencies that may arise with all our local and regional
personnel or visitors.
 Manage Security Provider Performance. Manage security subcontractor(s) and optimize the
subcontractor’s performance with actions that include inspections and audits, ensuring
compliance with requirements defined in the subcontract SOW, guidance and instructions for
remedial actions, and oversight to ensure effective and efficient use of resources. Particularly,
work closely with the home office Supply Chain Solutions Security Management Unit to educate
the security providers to the programmatic approach and methodology.
On an activity-by-activity basis, implement the capability to operate safely. In coordination with
the senior management team -SMT, manage the implementation and quality control of security
policies and the standard operating procedures. This includes ensuring security plans that
enable the mission while meeting SCI standards; problem solving specific security issues;
determining resource requirements; and vetting and selection of security resources for a
constantly improving structure.
Additional job responsibilities
 Support emergency response activities when required.
Others
 Represent Save the Children in relevant coordination/partnership meetings and in other fora.
 Carry on any other reasonable duty as may be assigned that is consistent with the nature of the
job and level of responsibility.

Qualifications Requises

QUALIFICATIONS
Tertiary degree in related discipline
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential:
 Minimum 4 years of experience in equivalent positions, preferably in Non-Governmental
Organizations or International Cooperation Agencies.
 Knowledge in MS Office, Excel and internet packages.
 Ability to work in a team.
 Good judgment and ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks in an environment of constant
change.
 Ability to work in complex, difficult and risky contexts
 Fluent in English, French and Creole; Spanish is a plus
 Strong oral and written communication skills
 Leadership

TITLE: Safety and Security Manager
TEAM/PROGRAMME: Haiti Country Office LOCATION: Port au Prince
LEVEL: 2 Type of Contract: Open-Ended
CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a
week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in
country programs; or are visiting country programs; ore because they are responsible for implementing
the police checking/vetting process staff.
