Quisqueya University (uniQ) is a private institution of higher education and research with 3500 enrolled students, renowned for being one of the top universities in Haiti. In 2015, Universitè Quisqueya founded InnovEd-UniQ which serves as an institute for innovation in education to facilitate teacher and school leader professional development, conduct research in pedagogical practices in Haiti, and push policy at the government level to promote an engaging, relevant, and reflective approach to education. InnovEd-UniQ is promoting and enhancing quality of education by becoming a driver for systemic national change in teacher professional development and pedagogical approaches to education.
Fonctions
The Education Specialist will work on an integrated set of activities focused on the creation of innovative pedagogical methodologies and documents adapted to local culture, professional development and follow-up, community outreach, and partnership with a diverse range of organizations.
This position includes the following responsibilities:
Provide leadership, coaching and M&E support for InnovEd’s partner Lab School (Leogane) and help to develop new lab schools.
Develop the InnovEd-UniQ professional development team in the delivery of training, collection of data, reporting and coaching.
Develop professional development modules for teachers, directors, supervisors and coaches in line with MENFP competencies and InnovEd-UniQ’s overall pedagogical approach.
Serve as an advisor to the Professional Development Coordinator and team regarding innovative curriculum and relevant methods, teaching materials and training approaches.
Apply the latest research, changes and innovations in applicable fields, curriculae and pedagogical methods, complementary activities, manuals and other educational materials, and the evaluation of students’ academic performance.
Qualifications Requises
· Degree in education (Master’s level - desirable)
· Minimum 5 years of teaching experience (teacher training - desirable)
· Languages: French & Haitian Creole (English - desirable)
