Introduction

The primary duty of the School Director is to develop and implement an effective instructional program appropriate to the target students. Careful attention should be given to the choice, supervision and communication of and with the teachers and other instructional personnel working in the school, including both full and part-time personnel. The Director must have solid communication and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to analyze testing data and other statistics. With the growing emphasis on digital technology, he/she must be open to the transition away from traditional textbooks-only into other a combination of instructional materials and innovative teaching methods in the coming years.
It is expected the new director will develop international connections with the view to an exchange student program, video-based lectures and interactions with industry leaders within and beyond Haiti for various departments.


Fonctions

• Determine and formulate a desirable curriculum for a University-level Agriculture Program based on 3+2 format with the possibility of a technical degree or continuing on to a specialization toward an Agriculture license degree.
• Develop an Education Outreach Program based on the Learning by Experience policy of the institution.
• Develop and facilitate an Applied Agriculture Research program and work with other institutions in the field to improve and enhance the current science laboratory facility and promote sharing of knowledge.
• Develop an Agriculture Economics Development program to research, develop and implement new ideas for commercial utilization.
• Effectively use the two ZA Research Farms for practical and informative experiences for the students.
• Coordinate the development of an online platform for teaching and administration purposes.
• Ability to stay current with educational and administrative platforms and best methods for digital engagement.
• Knowledge of a variety of platform and delivery methods (Moodle, black board, etc.)
• Elaborate an operational budget for the school year.
• Initiate parent-teacher relationships as part of measuring progress and gauging behavior while instilling the importance of community participation.
• Provide needed information for financial reporting.


Qualifications Requises

• Ph.D in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Environmental Science, or related discipline;
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the Haitian State University System;
• Ability to communicate in English, French, and Creole;
• Demonstrated leadership capacity;
• Excellent planning and organizational skills;
• Ability to work both independently and a with team to reach individual and team goals;
• Excellent knowledge of MENFP and the educational sector in Haiti;
• Excellent knowledge of education policy research and analysis;
• Knowledge of computers and database/spreadsheet and word processing software

In addition, applicants must also submit a short essay on what they think are the most promising employment areas for young graduates in agriculture-related industries (500 -600 words)
