JSI Research & Training (JSI) is a public health consulting firm dedicated to providing high quality technical and managerial assistance to public health programs throughout the world. JSI works extensively with national and local governments, NGOs, the private sector, and traditional leaders to expand access to services for vulnerable populations.
JSI seeks a dynamic and highly experienced candidate for the Chief of Party (COP) position for a USAID-funded Orphans and Vulnerable Children II (OVC II) Activity in Haiti. The goal is to support Haitian children living with and/or affected by HIV/AIDS to grow into healthy, educated, young adults free from violence and the ill-effects of HIV.
The Chief of Party (COP) will be responsible for providing overall program leadership, management, and technical direction. He/she will serve as key liaison with USAID, government counterparts, and local partners. The COP will manage and supervise the work of program personnel and sub-recipients to ensure that all program assistance is technically sound and appropriate. He/she will also oversee program work planning, performance management, and strategic communication.
Should JSI be the successful bidder, this will be a full-time position based in Haiti. The Chief of Party will report to the JSI home office Senior Advisor.
Fonctions
and ensuring technical and management excellence;
• Represent the project to USAID, local governments and other key stakeholders, including KP-focused civil society organizations (CSOs) and local NGOs;
• Develop and oversee implementation of a resource leveraging plan that will expand the reach of project activities and contribute to sustainability;
• Lead the development and implementation of the project work plans and program evaluations;
• Assure the quality and timeliness of reports and other deliverables;
• Ensure compliance with all requirements of the agreement including sub-recipients; and
• Maintain regular communications with the JSI home office.
Qualifications Requises
• Medical Degree (M.D.) or Master’s Degree in Public Health, or related field;
• At least ten (10) years of experience implementing and managing donor-funded projects in developing countries; PEPFAR or USAID experience is desired.
• At least eight (8) years of experience in related pediatric HIV and/or community based activities, and/or other relevant activities;
• Demonstrated experience in leadership roles, promoting strategic planning, and careful budget management;
• Experience engaging with host country governments and counterparts, and international donor agencies; and
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in French and English; working knowledge of Haitian Creole is preferred.
