Fonctions

Responsibilities: In accordance with WHI policies, accounting standards and regulations, the Finance Officer will enter transactions and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger. Prepare financial reports and perform analysis. In addition, the Finance Officer will perform general accounting duties, prepare the annual budget for Haiti, assist with grant management/compliance, prepare for/oversee grant audits and compliance reporting. This position requires strong computer/technical skills, flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, careful attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management, domestic staff, international staff, and outside clients and vendors. More specifically, responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Perform monthly reconciliations of all asset and liability accounts including bank reconcilations
• Prepare journal entries for all transactions
• Enforce procurement policy on all expenditures
• Review accuracy of all coding
• Prepare checks and bank certified checks for payment
• Prepare payroll and track/submit employment taxes
• Keep an organized filing system for all documentation
• Assist with preparing wire requests
• Oversee petty cash
• Track, deposit and record program revenue and other deposits
• Assist the program staff by providing financial reports and budget analysis
• Assist with grant management, compliance, reporting and budget review
• Prepare government filings
• Administrative and translation support to program staff
• Other duties as assigned

• Proactively raise any conflicting/incompatible job expectations or requests with the Country Director and cooperatively participates in their resolution


Qualifications Requises

Required Qualifications:

• College degree in accounting
• Three or more years of experience in NGO accounting
• Prior experience working with federal grants
• Knowledge of OMB and GAAP standards

• Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a global workforce
• Must have excellent oral and written skills in English

Technical Skills:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
• Highly proficient in Excel
• Working knowledge of Acumatica accounting software
• Prior experience with grant accounting and compliance
