Introduction

Child Hope International (CHI) is a Christian 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in California, USA. CHI financially supports Maison de Lumiere (MDL) in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, which exists to minister to orphans and widows in their distress by transitioning children from orphanages into loving families. We do this through Christ-centered care, training, and social work. Our vision is to see no more orphans in Haiti.


Fonctions

Under the authority and supervision of the Executive Director & Family Hope / TSS Manager.He/she is responsible for being a Pastoral support to families, children and staff. Work with executive director to develop and implement faith based culture in our organization to build up, equip and encourage all staff to minister within their specific job roles
Oversee all spiritual pastoring of staff
Meet with parents, share the Gospel, connect them to a local church.
Provide spiritual support in the healing process of children’s past trauma.
Understand the Family Hope Program and help implement spiritual formation resources for every step of the reunification process with both the family and child.
Help report necessary information to social workers to add to case files.
Help children understand the Gospel and develop age appropriate doctrine and spiritual health.
Help find or create cultural age appropriate devotional plans for the Children’s Home - working with Orphanage Supervisor and Future Hope Manager.
Provide devotional resources for kids / families.
Provide spiritual encouragement for each child in your care, praying for them by name daily.
Ensure the child's stability of mind so that they can feel safe and connected.
Meet with MDL Team weekly and as needed.
Review the weekly nanny report regarding the children's behavior.
Incident Reporting: As situations occur, work directly with the Social Workers and report the incident.
Help share testimonies of the work through monthly reporting.
Participate in the following training: trauma, early childhood development, parenting.



Qualifications réquises

Fluency in English
Seminary Degree in Ministry & Theology
Pastoral experience
Prior experience working with children and or families
Strong connections with local churches


Conditions particulières

Basic knowledge of child development and psychology
Trauma Informed Care Training
