Introduction

The Institutional Partnerships Officer is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of grants and gifts from public sector partners as well as foundations and corporations. As a member of Zanmi Lasante’s Development team, this position plays a central role in developing and implementing solicitation strategies for private institutional and public sector partners. The position is expected to work with Partners In Health public and private sector partnership teams to achieve these goals.


Fonctions

• Partnership Strategy, Solicitation, and Stewardship (60%)
o Under the direction of the ZL Development Director, assume responsibility for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a portfolio of 20-25 institutional partners, building a robust pipeline to secure institutional funding.
o Develop, implement, and adjust strategies over the course of the year to meet annual revenue goals. Ensure portfolio strategies integrate with the organization’s development, marketing, and advocacy initiatives (such as planned events, leadership publications, conference circuit, etc.).
o Develop and frame proposal ideas that reflect ZL’s programmatic priorities and best interests and are competitive according to donor interests and strategies.
o Represent ZL externally with partners on phone calls, face-to-face meetings, and site visits.
o As assigned, qualify new and lapsed funders to build out a broader prospect pipeline for the team, and maximize organizational investment in new prospects.
• Writing and Editing (20%)
o Write and edit requests for funding to institutional partners, such as pitch decks, letters of inquiry, concept papers, proposals, donation requests, and grant applications, in close collaboration with ZL clinical teams.
o Ensure timely completion of proposals, reports, and other key deliverables required by institutional partners. Ensure all submissions meet internal and external requirements.
• Cross-team Collaboration (20%)
o Engage across the broader development teams, including institutional fundraisers across OnePIH, to maximize value of private institutional and public sector partnerships and identify opportunities to creatively leverage organizational relationships. Success hinges on collaboration.
o Perform other relevant duties as needed to support development department goals.


Qualifications réquises

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Higher education or healthcare experience a plus.
• Requires at least 5-7 years of fundraising or related programmatic experience, including specialized knowledge of institutional fundraising best practices, proposal development, and donor solicitation.
• Excellent communication and writing skills; ability to articulate ZL’s mission, program objectives, and resource needs persuasively to potential donors.
• Ability to serve as an external representative to donors.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues in various geographies and across time zones.
• Demonstrated project management skills; ability to manage complex projects from creation to completion, plan and prioritize multiple projects, and coordinate teams to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated poise, tact, integrity, and professionalism.
• Knowledge and proficiency with best practices in donor recognition and data management. Raisers’ Edge experience desirable.
• Able to travel domestically and internationally, including international travel to remote or hard to access locations with limited infrastructure.
• Exemplary interpersonal skills.
• Interest in health equity strongly desirable.
