The senior accountant for Habitat for Humanity Haiti will be involve in maintaining the accounting and finance reports using Sun Systems and in compliance with the policies of HFHI and local regulations in an accurate way.

Primary responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for fund-accounting processes
- Responsible of approving final entries in Sun System
- Prepare quarterly reporting package for the Chief Finance Controller to approve and send to the AO
- Supervise the day-to-day Haiti accounting processes and activities
- Oversee the disbursement process. Ensure that appropriate authorization and documentation is obtained for all expenditures prior to processing.
- Manage cash flow. Keep track of actual cash balances on hand. Estimate the operating requirements for Haiti. Manage cash transfers from LAC Area Office and/or HFHI to ensure Haiti maintains sufficient cash on hand to maintain operations within HFHI policies.
- Implement Internal Control procedures in conjunction with HFHI Internal Controls group to comply with HFHI best practices.
- Supervise financial side of procurement procedures as required.
- Oversee and ensure all accounting documentation is in compliance with HFHI standards and policies.
- Communicate any problems or concerns regarding procedures or any other issues to the Chief Financial Controller.
- Provide complex reports to different donors and partners including Budget vs Actual to different reportable donors and financial reporting for upper management and for HQ
- Ability to track fund expenditures and expenses for particular donors and partners
Supervise reconciliation process for all bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, Fixed Assets and depreciation.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Controller.

- Bachelor Degree in Accounting
- Fluency in English
- Computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) and Sun Systems Accounting, accounting/book keeping training.
- Good attention to detail
- 3-5 years of related experience including fund accounting
- Experience in Grants accounting and local Haitian law
- Familiar with international development projects and Institutional donors and UN agencies
- Ability to track fund expenditures and expenses for particular donors and partners
