Introduction

The Country Head is the senior representative and principal manager in Haiti responsible for the in-country day-to-day office and program operations of NOVA’s clinics in Martineau and Boileau. The Country Head works closely with the Executive Board (predominantly in the U.S.) to ensure that the organization executes on its vision to provide primary healthcare to the people of Haiti. S/he will build and manage the team necessary to accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives while coordinating, as needed, with other non-profits, international agencies, the Government of Haiti, and others as appropriate.

The Country Head is responsible for:

Program Management: attracting, engaging and retaining high caliber professionals to plan for and deliver on NOVA’s programs and activities. This includes reporting back on key initiatives and metrics to the Executive Committee.

Operations Management: oversee the performance management of staff, financial accounting, and development and execution of the policies and procedures of NOVA. Ensure consistent adherence to policies and procedures and fairness in performance management.

Development Responsibilities: active outreach and marketing of NOVA’s capabilities and contributions to the community. Acts as a spokesperson within the local community and provides interesting and meaningful content to the Executive Committee that can be used for marketing and fundraising purposes.

Qualifications réquises

1. Technical expertise in Healthcare and/or Economic Development.
2. Personal commitment to the mission, vision and core values of NOVA and ability to lead and create a work environment reflected by those.
3. At least five years of experience in a senior management and administrative position.
4. Must have a proven track record of effectively implementing operational and administrative procedures and a positive culture across all functions of the organization.
5. Demonstrated skills and experience in program & budget development, management, accounting, and administration.
6. Ability to forge a mutually respectful and productive partnership with existing development agencies, businesses, human services, and religious affiliates in Haiti and the U.S.
7. Must be able to work full time in Cavaillon. (Housing at NOVA residence is available and negotiable).
8. Fluent in English, French and Haitian Creole (reading, writing, speaking, translations).
9. Excellent oral, written, and public communication skills.
10. Advanced computer skills in Google Tools, Microsoft Office Suite and Cloud-based software programs.
11. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality with sensitive information.
12. Ability to deal with ambiguity and effectively manage the requirements of U.S. leadership with the local culture.
13. Ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritize while maintaining a positive attitude and demeanor.
14. Applicants must be capable of meeting all physical responsibilities, including but not limited to walking distances over 10 kilometers at various elevations.


Conditions particulières

Workdays are Monday-Friday and an occasional weekend during Mission trips. Fieldwork may require the extension of the workday.
