Work Summary
Mission of Hope is seeking a Training Facilitator to join our Grants and Contracts Department as a member of the team collaborating on the REPONS Grant, funded by USAID Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) and Food for Peace (FFP), focusing in Disaster Preparedness Training for professionals and community leaders in Haiti. In partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and World Vision (WV), the grant is aimed at improving individual capacity of 40 organizations (CBO’s) to respond to emergencies in cooperation with government authorities and other key emergency response stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a passion for disaster response and possess the ability to clearly educate others through contoured sessions with provided training curriculum.


Fonctions

Represent Mission of Hope by facilitating trainings to professionals/community leaders on specified disaster preparedness topics such as: Inventory & Distribution Management, Administration & Leadership, Cash Vouchers, WASH, Communication in Crisis, Assessment/Evaluation, Risk Management, Emergency Shelter
• Receive full REPONS training in the above topics to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project prior to facilitating sessions
• Be trained (by experienced facilitators) on how to facilitate trainings to an audience
• Travel to various trainings throughout all 7 departments of Haiti to learn about the project and learn how other facilitators manage a session
• Attend Quarterly Grant Meetings in various locations (Previous meeting locations include Port-au-Prince and Les Cayes) to assess progress of the project and plan for upcoming trainings/events
• Report to MOH Grant Team on a weekly basis to schedule trainings to facilitate
• Assist in the overall evaluation of the progress of a specific CBO through the training process
• Record financial costs incurred on assigned sessions and report to the Grant Manager or member of the FOME Accounting Department


Qualifications réquises

Fluent in French, Creole, and English (All trainings will be in French)
• Have 1-2 years of experience working in a professional environment
• Experience training or educating others in a formal setting
• Comfortable with public speaking
• Individuals trained in any of the listed disaster preparedness topics above is ideal
• Is willing to do tasks outside of the specified job description
• Learns quickly and is able to translate information in an easy-to-understand manner
