SUPERVISOR (Report to)
General Manager

MISSION
Coordinate and supervise the whole operation of preventive, corrective maintenance, ensuring the optimal functioning of all transportation units, according with the budgeted, through the efficient management of his team and work area.


Fonctions

JOB SPECIFICS
Responsible for recruiting a team of technicians with the skills and qualifications to carry out the type of servicing and repairs offered by the auto shop. They supervise technicians’ performance and arrange training programs to keep the team’s skills up to date.

Prepare schedules and plan staff duty rotations to ensure that servicing and repairs are completed as quickly as possible. They also select equipment, such as diagnostic tools, that will improve quality and productivity in the service department.

MAIN DUTIES
• Staff management - set objectives for cost reduction and repair time
• Close collaboration with procurement officer and stock staff
• Preventive maintenance of trucks, administration vehicles & Generator
• Establish and follow a schedule for preventive maintenance and regular truck service.
• Repairs in general: 1. Engine Repair
2 Transmission
3. Differential Repair
4. Suspension
5. Welding
6. Painting
7. Manufacture of trays
8. Repair of tires
9. Truck Service (preventive maintenance)
10. Trailers transformation
11. Electrical
12. flatbed repair and chassis
13. Forklifts
• Ensure the good condition of the fleet.
• Maintain minimum fleet availability as determined by senior management
• Make recommendations on the fleet - replacement, sales or other
• Submit the following reports
- Number of trucks in repairs/down
- Repairs and schedule
- Monthly report of parts required and used
• Analyze and present fleet replacement.
• Maintain updated fleet efficiency per kilometer traveled, in order to ensure a standard cost and handling.
• Optimize and reduce fleet maintenance costs.
• Guarantee the harmony of the department in charge.
•Define minimum inventory of parts for maintenance together with the person in charge of purchases.
•Perform statistical analysis of the data and present proposals for improvement to the Management.

DAILY ACTIVITY
• Coordinate works of the heads of mechanics, electrical works, chassis, forklifts, and paint.
• Coordinate the rescue work of the transportation units
• Prioritize the repairing of transportation units.
• Prioritize man-hours based on transportation units with requirements for rapid departure.
• Guarantee compliance with repairs, according to established standard times.
• Execute all the planning and preventive maintenance scheme for all units of the fleet
• Create job orders
• Register the use of spare parts in job orders, and mechanics hours


Qualifications réquises

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong leadership skills

• Ability to effectively implement process improvements, and provide quality results.

• Min 5 years of experience in the operation of a garage or trucks fleet, where all types of heavy equipment have been maintained and repaired; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the
duties assigned to the position

• Strong internal and external communication skills

EUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

• Requirements: Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma
• French. English, Spanish optional.
