for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.


Fonctions

ROLE PURPOSE:
The New Business Development Manager is a senior position within the Country Office Programme.
S/He will identify and track donor opportunities, facilitate donor engagement, assist in the development of fundraising strategies, and coordinate proposal development for large and strategic funding opportunities.

The position requires innovative thinking and creativity to package our
programme strategies in ways that attract the right donor support and grow our portfolio effectively.

S/He will write sections of proposals that speak to our overall capabilities, while coordinating the
input of technical advisors, Operations, Finance, HR and Security into proposals and budgets.
Recognising that many conversations with donors involve a review or update around current grants as well as discussions about new opportunities, the New Business Development Manager will also be expected to keep closely informed about the progress of all major institutional grants and able to speak to results in key reporting documents. They will be responsible for overseeing the
development of high quality, innovative programs that deliver immediate and lasting change for children and monitoring the quality of the implementation of those programs. The role will have an external orientation, and will work very closely with Save the Children Members.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Management
. As a senior member of the Haiti Country Programme, demonstrate behaviours that are
consistent with Save the Children’s Mission, Vision and Values and ensure their broader
application by staff across the programme
. Contribute to a conducive and productive work environment typified by team work and collaboration
. Work with senior Country Office (CO) staff to build and strengthen the country office staff’s
relationships with appropriate contacts in donor, government, and partner organizations

New Business Development
. Develop/strengthen and maintain systems and CO staff capacity to track positioning and donor
engagement strategies, monitor opportunity pipelines, and manage information necessary for effective capture planning and proposal development
. Support country office to strategically manage growth and set targets

Coordination
. Coordinate and provide strategic leadership direction, guidance and technical support to
enhance the new business development function in the Haiti office.
. Ensure a child rights approach and resilience cuts across all our thematic areas from design to implementation.
. Ensure the design and development of child focused emergency and development programs of a high quality that contribute to the Country Office’s strategies and plans, informed by child
participation where possible
. Ensure that all sectors apply a risk lens to program design and implementation in line with the Save the Children policy on Disaster Risk Reduction
. Strengthen SCI staff capacity and process to position, capture, and develop competitive
proposals for institutional donors
. Assist CO staff to develop and maintain documentation on the successes, results, and lessons from CO past performance, suitable for proposal and capacity statements
. Help develop CO quality control mechanisms through the management of capture and bid
efforts, including team management; writing, reviewing and editing proposal sections;
supporting partner relations; and final proposal production and submission
. External Engagement
. Participate in any donor visit to project(s) within the country office portfolio, as required
. Identify, research, and disseminate information on new funding opportunities from bilateral, multi-lateral, and other institutional donors. Use creative approaches to link programme aspirations to donor priorities, while also effectively influencing the strategies of donors.
. Cultivate business relationships with external stakeholders and potential partners
. Participate in key donor meetings, to foster long-term collaboration and engagement.
. Explore and test potential private sector partnerships
. Build external networks for informal positioning
Capacity Building
. Seek training opportunities and resources to build capacity in programme staff – i.e. proposal
development, report writing, reporting project cycle management, or donor compliance.

Qualifications réquises

QUALIFICATIONS
Educational background in Social Sciences/Development to Master degree level, or equivalent experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
. Proven track record in producing winning bids and proposals for Institutional donors, corporates and others
. Strong understanding of USG RFAs and contracts; DFID, Europaid and other institutional
donors.
. Proven ability to design high quality programs
. Recommended 8 years’ experience in both an emergency and development contexts, preferably with solid experience in at least 2 priority sectors of Save the Children: education, protection,
child rights governance, health and nutrition.
. Experience in both development and complex emergencies preferred.
. Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels, and pull together input from a diverse team.
. Excellent writing/editing, reporting, budget development and presentation/communication skills.
. Experience in presenting project information to donors and partners.
. Experience in coordinating development of large-scale or strategic proposals, including the
development of multi-million dollar project budgets.
. Proven representation skills.
