Introduction

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for driving the Company’s operations, in a sustainable, responsible, and client responsive manner. The COO has direct oversight responsible for all bank operations, including retail branches. This includes but is not limited to leading and directing the following functions: products and services delivery, back-office operations, market research and product development, and social performance management including implementation of the Company’s client protection principles. S/he ensures full compliance with the existing policies and procedures of the Company, especially credit and operational risk management policies and procedures, as well as applicable external regulations. S/he has management responsibility over the branch network and non-branch operational staff at the Head Office. S/he works closely and efficiently with various departments at head office. This role will require a detailed understanding of measurements and metrics used to drive a successful and scalable, technology focused, customer experience organization, and an ability to engage and elevate teams to new levels of performance.
The COO is a member of the Executive Management Team and Management Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO). The position reports directly to the CEO and attends and participates in Board of Director and Stockholder meetings.


Fonctions

This role will drive the vision and execution of the customer experience and engagement strategy across the organization;
• Contributes to the development of the Company's overall strategic plans, projects and long-term goals; • Designs strategies to insure the scalability of SFF in alignment with the demands of a transforming consumer marketplace. Ability to roadmap for the future; • Develops and strengthens the policies and procedures and ensure compliance with the Company’s credit risk management systems from loan origination to recovery; and • Develops and strengthens the policies and procedures and ensure compliance with the Company’s operational risk management systems. • Maintains market knowledge of customer experience landscape, competition and consumer attitudes; proactively assessing, analyzing, and implementing effective actions to sustain growth and increase market share;

• Oversight of all operation functions, credit administration, customer engagement and satisfaction, marketing, community support, and business development; • Consult with CEO regarding any deviations to established policy;


Qualifications réquises

10+ years of broad and advanced executive experience in commercial bank operations or microfinance sector, preferably as COO or CFO. • Proven record of growth, success building and leading an agile retail banking delivery model, and an inherent understanding of the evolution and disruptors in the financial services industry; • Must demonstrate superior practical and conceptual knowledge of banking products and operations, deposit raising, treasury management, and accounting. • Knowledge of bank financial and accounting systems and Excel • Strong written and verbal communication skills in French, and English and Haitian Creole, preferred. • Technical knowledge of banking business and banking/microfinance regulations, risk management, compliance and regulatory concepts, practices and methodologies; ability to analyze and interpret government regulations, trade journals, and legal documents. • Must be able to interact with and respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies and outside consultants. • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Master’s degree preferred.
